
vdB14 and vdB15, nebulae, Camelopardalis
A new target for me, and not one I've seen before - found whilst browsing around in Stellarium for interesting nebulae nowhere near the moon and yet high enough in the north-west to get a few hours' data. The van der Bergh catalogue lists reflection nebulae; here we have vdB14 (upper) and vdB15 (lower) , an intermixing of reflection nebulae and gas with hints of dust towards the bottom of the frame, in a sea of Hydrogen-alpha (Ha) nebulosity (the comparatively vast sh2-202 emission nebula). With a total integration of 20.9hr, this is a new record for the greatest amount of data I've put into a single target. I extracted the red channel only from the dual-narrowband IDAS NBZ filter and mixed it with the red from the neodymium data to enhance differentiation of the two structures. SkyWatcher 80ED, QHY268C.
